The ROCK STARZ ™ workshops are designed to give students the opportunity to play with others in a band situation. All workshops are professionally coached by an Academy instructor that is also an experienced performer.

Material may range from oldies to blues, alternative to Top 40, depending on the ability and preference of the players and the teacher. Some workshops will have specific themes, i.e. "The British Invasion," "Southern Sounds," "Motown Music," etc.

Each workshop is 80 minutes per week for 12 weeks with a public performance at the end of each session at Franklin's Cove. Students are allowed to join the class anytime within the first 6 weeks of the session, space permitting.

Students will learn 4 to 6 or more songs during each 12-week session.

Class size is limited. All students must audition to determine the "best-fit" class for them. If the class is already full, the student can be put on a waiting list for either the next 3-month session or, if there are enough students, we may open another class.

What to expect:

  • How to play with a group (in sync)
  • How to set up for your performance
  • Understand and use your gear properly
  • Following chord charts or rhythm charts
  • Backing up a singer
  • Adjusting to proper playing volume
  • Starting and end songs properly
